Last Friday grandson no 3 arrived very safely. His proud parents have put the rug and quilt I have made him on his basket.
On saturday and Sunday I and 14 others did a wonderful machine embellishing felting workshop. this was a technique based course, We had a lot of fun. Felicity Clarke was our tutor and what amazing work she has done. Check out felicities website http://www.bearlytherecreations.com/
Tomorrow I am off to the Quilt and Craft show in Brisbane and look forward to seeing Pamela's prize winning quilt.

Dyeing with Mulberries

I did this a few days ago using the liquid strained from boiling up Mulberries. I place the liquid in my $5 (from the op shop) aluminium deep fryer, folded the silk scrap, tied it up with string and also put a copper pipe in the pot to also act as a mordant.

I tried another day with brilliant bouganvillia petals. This experiment was a dismal failure and doesn't warrent wasting a photo on the result.

Ice dyeing

This is the fabric being covered with ice then procion dye powder. The fabrics are on a rack and were the covered in plastic and left to cure.

Winnie the Pooh Quilt for Grandson No 3

This is a small cot quilt made for grandson No 3 who is due any day. It was inspired by One of a Kind design. The are 4 larger WTP fussy cut blocks and 4 smaller blocks of allover WTP fabric. The other blocks are randomly placed colours.
